The Copper Hen Wedding | Minneapolis Baci Ceremony

It was an honor to photograph Arianna & Bear during their wedding at The Copper Hen and their Baci Ceremony at Thai Twist Restaurant & Banquet Hall. Arianna and Bear shared their First Look in front of the Minneapolis Institute of Art and it was a beautiful to start the weekend of celebrations for Arianna and Bear as the two of them enjoyed some alone time to soak it all in.

After the Minneapolis Institute of Art, we headed to The Copper Hen Cakery & Kitchen on Nicollet Avenue where Arianna and Bear’s closest family and friends gathered before the wedding ceremony. The Copper Hen was the perfect place for these to celebrate their wedding day with amazing food and good vibes in a romantic setting! This place was also meaningful to Arianna and Bear. It’s a restaurant they’ve always enjoyed going to together, and they were able to share this place with their loved ones.

Arianna and Bear also celebrated their love with a traditional Lao celebration called a Baci Ceremony. The ceremony started with Bear parading around the venue with others all around him banging pots and pans to ward off evil. As Bear entered inside, he had to pass a series of riddles from the Father of the Bride and family. Once he passed, he was able to join Arianna in the ceremony space where everyone surrounded the centerpiece with two trees, connection strings, and gifts of food. The ceremony symbolized Arianna and Bear’s new chapter together as their family and friends shared their blessings and well-wishes.

Arianna and Bear are some of the sweetest people with the kindest hearts and were glowing all weekend! You could see how much it meant to them to have everyone come and celebrate their union of marriage. It was a true honor to be there and photograph Arianna and Bear’s wedding and Baci Ceremony!
