Do you have friends who inspire you to be a better person? Friends, who radiate happiness and kindness like no other? That’s how I feel about Isa and Gus! It was indeed an honor to be able to plan The Basilica of Saint Mary Photo Shoot with these friends of mine that I’ve had the pleasure of knowing since my college days. 

I met Isa while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. Although we went to different colleges, our schools were in the same network of private colleges in the Midwest, which is why we were both involved in the same study abroad program. We’ve been friends ever since day one of our study abroad program! It’s not often you meet one of your best friends in a foreign country only to find out they live in the same state as you do. 

Since those Italian days, Isa and I have kept in touch throughout the years. I can even remember the first time Isa told me about this new guy she met at Kowalski’s Market, Gus. She was blushing and was so excited to share the news.

True love is when you blush while talking about your significant other—and I can say, that she still blushes whenever she talks about him to me. With just a few adjectives, I can say that Gus is such a fun, kind, and open guy! I never feel like the third wheel around them, and in fact, I love being the third wheel because these two are all-around joyful people! 

I’m very excited to share these images below. One thing I love about photography is the opportunity to get weird and creative, for the sake of creativity itself. Isa, with her art background, and Gus, with his competitive background, were totally up for the challenge! Also, I’m convinced I photographed the couple with the most gorgeous hair on this planet. Is it just me, or does anyone else think these two have Game of Thrones’ level of hair?! Add a little bit of wind, and creativity. . .it’s a good time! The Basilica of Saint Mary photo shoot certainly won’t be one I forget!
