Lake Harriet Engagement Session

Solveig & Mac

Sometimes you leave an engagement session and you feel like you gained two new friends! That is what it felt like with Solveig & Mac as we walked around the Lyndale Park Rose Garden at Lake Harriet and ended the session at Alliance Jiu Jitsu. It was so much fun getting to know Solveig & Mac and learning more about their story! We talked about all things international travel and culture! Solveig is currently in medical school in Dublin, Ireland and has also spent time living in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Mac is originally from Canada. The world feels so small when you hear stories like theirs! 

Solveig & Mac met each other while they were both enrolled at Alliance Ji Jitsu. The gym required everyone to have a fixed partner during COVID, and that is when Solveig reached out to Mac, and well. . .the rest is history! It was so much fun ending the engagement session at the gym. You can tell it’s love when you’re in a choke-hold and still smiling, or when you get tossed onto your back and get back up laughing with your significant other. Now that’s a whole new meaning behind “tough love”!

Another special place for Solveig and Mac is Lake Harriet. They used to spend a lot of time there during COVID when everything was shut down. We were able to explore the area and take some photos at the lake and Lyndale Park Rose Garden.

It was an honor to get to know Solveig and Mac and take these engagement photos in places that meant a lot to them. I always find it special when I can connect with my couples and it is reflected in the photos. Just look at their smiles! These two radiate such beauty and joy and I’m excited to see them again for their spring wedding in 2024!
